Identify the load-box support

Record the vehicle’s full model, year and variant, together with any number on the existing support. Confirm that the replacement application is for the dump box fitted to that vehicle. A shared model name or similar cylinder shape does not establish an exact match.

Compare the support specification and attachments

Check the manufacturer’s stated support specification, dimensions and end fittings where provided. Establish which attachment parts are supplied and which are separate. Is a dump box shock the same as a suspension shock absorber?

No. The dump box support belongs to the tilting load-box assembly. A wheel-suspension shock absorber serves a different part of the vehicle; the shared word shock does not make them interchangeable.

Does replacing the support increase the vehicle’s carrying capacity?

Do not treat a replacement support as a payload upgrade. Use the vehicle manufacturer’s stated load limits; no increased capacity is established by this category or a support’s appearance.

Can I choose a support by its length alone?
