Quad bike spark plug leads and caps

Choose spark-plug caps, leads and lead-and-cap assemblies by their connections and ignition-system specification. Check whether you need a separate cap or a complete lead assembly before comparing references.

Identify the cap and both lead connections

For a cap, match the plug terminal type, cap shape and specified plug size. For a lead, also compare its length and the connection at the coil end. Use the manufacturer’s reference and full application to resolve these details; colour or a similar-looking rubber cover does not identify the electrical connection.

Keep the specified resistance and assembly type

Match the cap or lead’s stated resistance specification to the vehicle or ignition manufacturer’s requirements. Do not choose a different resistance as an assumed upgrade. Check whether the listed item is a cap, a lead or a combined assembly, and use ignition coils when the required part is at the other end of the lead.

Will any cap fit my spark plug?

Confirm the cap’s specified terminal type and plug size. A cap for a threaded stud and one for a terminal nut or solid terminal are different selections. Check the exact spark plug reference as well as the cap.

Is a coloured cap different from a black one?

Colour alone does not tell you the fit or resistance. Compare the full part number, cap geometry, terminal type and electrical specification before treating two caps as alternatives.

Does a plug cap include the lead?

Use the stated contents for the exact reference. A separate cap and a combined lead-and-cap assembly are different purchases; the category name does not establish what comes in the package.

Will a new lead or cap cure a misfire?

A symptom alone does not identify the failed part. Establish which component requires replacement before ordering; the wider ignition category also covers coils, plugs and other ignition parts.

Compare the complete model, year and part number before choosing a part.
