Quad bike coolant
Choose coolant for a liquid-cooled quad by the vehicle manufacturer's specification and the coolant's technical information. Check the intended application, whether it is ready to use, and the quantity needed for the planned work before ordering.

Match the specification and intended use
Check the vehicle handbook for the required coolant, then compare the coolant manufacturer's stated applications, material compatibility and temperature protection. Use the exact specification rather than colour or a racing label alone. For organised competition, also check the event's fluid requirements before choosing.
Check preparation and quantity
Establish whether the coolant is supplied ready to use or requires preparation, and follow its exact instructions. Use the machine's service information for the amount needed for the planned work and compare it with the container size. If other components are required, browse radiator hoses and fittings and radiator caps, matching each part separately.
Can I choose coolant just by matching its colour?
Use the stated specification and application to make the choice. Colour alone does not confirm that a coolant meets the vehicle's requirement or can be mixed with the fluid already in the system. Identify the existing fluid and check both manufacturers' guidance.
Should I add water to ready-to-use coolant?
Follow the exact coolant instructions. Do not treat a ready-to-use product as a concentrate or assume it needs dilution. Check any preparation requirements before purchase, including the specified water and proportions if the chosen product is a concentrate.
Can I mix a new coolant with the one already fitted?
Only proceed when the vehicle and coolant manufacturers' guidance confirms the intended combination. If the existing fluid is unknown or compatibility is unclear, resolve that uncertainty before topping up. A matching colour or broad application description does not establish mixing compatibility.
Does buying coolant resolve repeated coolant loss?
Repeated loss needs assessment of the cooling system rather than an assumption that a different fluid will solve it. Follow the vehicle's service guidance or consult a qualified person. The cooling category groups related parts once the required component has been identified.
