Identify the part and where it goes
Listings cover different locations, including engine covers, the water pump, exhaust and differential. Check the part description and application for your job; a shared vehicle name does not make every gasket or seal interchangeable.
Check whether it is a part or a kit
Some listings are individual items; others are kits or sets. Read the unit and contents to see whether the listing includes the components you need. A kit label alone does not mean it contains every part for a complete rebuild.
Compare any dimensions, position or material shown for the specific item with your vehicle information. For related work, browse engine parts or transmission parts, and check each part against its own application.
Should I choose a gasket kit or an individual part?
Compare the seals and gaskets needed for the planned work with the kit's stated contents. Gaskets and kits covers gasket listings, while seals and O-rings provides a separate route for those components. An individual part may suit a single location; a kit still needs checking item by item.
Does a gasket kit include oil seals and O-rings?
Do not assume so from the kit name or photograph. Use the supplied-parts list for the exact reference and confirm any unclear inclusions. Account for seals or O-rings supplied with another repair kit before ordering duplicates.
Are dimensions enough to choose an oil seal?
Use dimensions as one check alongside the stated application, position and any material or specification details. A similar-looking seal or matching outer diameter alone does not establish suitability for the location being repaired.
Can gasket sealant replace the specified gasket?
Follow the engine or component manufacturer's instructions for the joint. Check whether a gasket, sealant or a specified combination is required before choosing a product. Browse gasket sealants only when the instructions call for one, and match its stated use to the job.
Compare the complete model, year and part number before choosing a part.
