4-stroke engine oil for quad bikes
Choose 4-stroke engine oil by the grade and specification in your quad's manual. Check whether the same oil also serves the clutch or transmission, then compare the exact oil's technical information before selecting a container size.

Match more than the viscosity grade
Compare the required viscosity with the oil's stated grade, then check the performance specifications and approvals called for by the vehicle manufacturer. Where the oil serves a wet clutch, confirm the required clutch-related specification too. A matching viscosity is only one part of the choice.
Plan the oil-service purchase
Use the manual's quantity for the service you are carrying out, including whether the filter is being changed. Check the container volume and supplied unit before ordering. Match any replacement oil filter separately to the engine; the oil selection does not establish filter fitment.
Is synthetic oil automatically suitable for my quad?
The word synthetic does not confirm the required grade, specification or clutch suitability. Compare those details for the exact oil against the vehicle manual. Use the wider oils category for other oil applications rather than choosing by base-oil description alone.
Can I choose oil by viscosity alone?
Check the complete specification. Two oils with the same viscosity label can have different stated applications and performance specifications. Confirm the requirements for your engine and any shared clutch or gearbox before treating an alternative as suitable.
Does the gearbox use the same oil as the engine?
Check the lubrication layout in your vehicle manual. Where a separate gearbox lubricant is specified, browse transmission oil and match that requirement independently. Do not assume that an engine-oil listing also covers every transmission or final-drive compartment.
How much oil should I order?
Find the refill quantity for the exact model and the particular service in the manual, then compare it with the volume supplied. A container size is a purchasing quantity, not the engine's fill instruction. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's checking procedure when the work is carried out.
Compare the complete model, year and part number before choosing a part.
