Oils for quad bike and UTV maintenance

Start with the correct application

Browse 4-stroke engine oil or 2-stroke engine oil for the relevant engine type. Use transmission oil and fork oil for those separate applications. A similar grade on two containers does not make different oil types interchangeable.

Read the specification as well as the grade

Compare the viscosity and stated performance specifications with your vehicle or component manual. The listings include different oil bases and specification claims; use the exact product details rather than choosing by brand or the word synthetic alone.

For filter oil, check the filter type and the filter maker's care instructions. A product for a foam filter, a filter rim or another application should be selected for that stated purpose.

Check the container and supplied unit

Read the container volume, description and purchase label together. The range includes small containers, larger containers and drums; the size of a container and the number supplied are separate facts. Check any product-specific delivery information for the item you choose.

If the service also requires an oil filter, match that filter separately to the engine. This page does not set service intervals or recommend a grade for an unidentified machine.
